Cigarette électronique : aspects pneumologiques

  • La cigarette électronique est un outil d'aide au sevrage tabagique, mais nombre d'usagers sont des vapoteurs fumeurs.
  • Son innocuité à long terme, notamment respiratoire et cardiovasculaire, n'est pas établie.
  • Son évolution technologique rapide et l'absence d'un statut de médicament sont des obstacles à la réalisation d'études d'efficacité et de tolérance.
  • Elle peut être proposée à court ou à moyen terme chez le fumeur chronique dépendant en échec de sevrage, en vue d'un sevrage tabagique complet.
  • Elle doit être déconseillée chez le non-fumeur ou chez les ex-fumeurs.
