The International Council of Nurses (ICN) Nurse Practitioner (NP)/Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Network was established in 2000 following the growth of advanced practice nursing globally. The ICN NP/APN Network was formed to be a resource and global network where advanced practice nurses (APNs), policy makers, educators, regulators, researchers and others could come together to share experiences, support one another and the development and evaluation of advanced practice nursing globally.The Network currently has around 4 200 members from 121 countries.
